There’s a lot to take in at Costco. From masses of grocery items to couches to the food court, navigating the store gets tricky. However, if you’re looking for deals, there’s an easy way to find them.

Costco items with a price ending in .97 are on sale.

Costco usually doesn’t advertise how much their prices have been reduced. You won’t find a mark on most retailer labels that reveals the old price. The .97 is how you know you’ll get a discount.

According to Costco.97, a deal-based blog, these sale prices are created by individual store management. Seasonal and low-sell items are more likely to be marked down to reduce inventory. However, price is not the only sign that you can save money.

The label also has a date code in the lower right corner. If the date is a few weeks old and you still see a lot of products on the shelf, the price could be reduced even more. It may be worth waiting to buy in case there is a second reduction.

If you’re a devoted bulk shopper looking to get the most bang for your buck, paying attention to your Costco labels is a must.
