As winter progresses, it seems that the cold lasts much longer than we would like. But why shiver during the day when space heaters can efficiently and safely heat your home? I tested the Grelife 24-Inch Oscillating Space Heater to see if it was up to the task.

Design: easy to set up and use

From the moment you take the Grelife 24-inch out of the box, it’s clear that the oscillating heater is easy to use. With just two pieces to snap together to serve as the base for the heater to rotate on, it only took a few minutes to get up and running.

Keep in mind that this heater needs to be plugged into an electrical outlet and the cord is a standard length, so it can limit your options for where to place the heater in any given room.

But the Grelife 24-Inch Oscillating Heater is fairly easy to move, whether it’s around a room or around the house. There’s a hidden handle on the back of the heater for easy lifting, and the entire unit weighs just a few pounds.

The heater is only available in black, which isn’t a big deal (or uncommon, in fact) unless you’re looking for an alternate color to make it more complementary to your space’s design.

One of the best features of the Grelife 24 Inch Oscillating Space Heater is that with PTC heating technology, it warmed up my space in a matter of minutes. 1500 watts of power make it faster and more efficient. There are several heating modes, including high power, low power, and ECO mode, which allows you to select the temperature you want.

And the control panel, with digital touch technology, was clearly marked and easy to use. The various settings were appreciated, including the ECO mode which allows the heater to automatically adjust to the needs of the room it is currently operating in.

Safety First: Key Features

Of course, safety is always a big consideration when purchasing and operating a space heater, especially in your home or shared office environment. Always take precautions when using a space heater, including making sure the unit isn’t too close to drapes or furniture.

The Grelife 24 Inch Oscillating Heater is made of flame retardant materials and is ETL certified (meaning it meets North American safety standards). And the outer thermal insulation means you won’t get burned if you accidentally touch it (although it still needs to be operated with care). It has overheat protection, and if the temperature reaches 122 degrees Fahrenheit, the heater automatically shuts off. The heater will also automatically shut off if it has been running for more than 15 hours.

This heater is an especially wise selection for anyone with children or pets in the home. Rollover protection is another highly valued element in this product. Whenever this heater is tipped over (whether by a naughty pet, a playing child, or an unintentional bump), it is set to automatically shut off. It then needs to be placed upright on a stable surface and manually turned back on to start heating the space again. ECO mode is a great way to maintain consistent heat in your space, with the ability to adjust the thermostat between 60 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The temperature setting can also be read in Fahrenheit or Celsius, depending on your preference, simply by pressing a couple of buttons in the settings.

There is a memory feature on the heater that also helps it remember your last setting. If you want to set the heater to run for a certain period of time, you can program it to run between 1 and 12 hours. This model offers you the opportunity to really customize the type of heat you want to get from your space heater.

The Grelife space heater comes with a handy remote control as another added bonus. Place the heater where you want and then move to your desk chair, reading chair, sofa to watch a movie or bed, and you can control the heater from just a few feet away. When not in use, it stores neatly in a corner on top of the heater.

And perhaps our favorite added feature is that the Grelife 24-Inch Space Heater also features a built-in night light at the base of the tower, which is an excellent surprise. With some adjustments depending on how much light is needed in the space, the heater’s subtle glow when a little one falls asleep, for example, can be welcome and helpful.
