Tesla continually updates its vehicles with changes or new features, and the same applies to the mobile app. The company recently updated its mobile app (Android/iOS) to version 4.9 and it now shows all withdrawals from the connected vehicle.
the twitter account Tesla_app_iOS first spotted this change, and now it appears to be rolling out to more users. While the “service” menu previously displayed appointments and information about upcoming services or appointments, the company will now be able to notify owners that a recall is available for a specific vehicle.
The change makes the Service menu within the app capable of viewing web pages, and the company can send alerts and retrieve information there, instead of updating the app every time a recovery occurs.
Once you’re in the latest Tesla app and the recall information is available, it’s easy to find in the service menu. According to reports from notelaappOwners can tap the “learn more” button to learn more, schedule an appointment, or get updates on that specific recall.

Tesla recently issued a recall for vehicles going through stop signs, then the company released an over-the-air software update (and recall) for a speedometer issue, and they likely won’t be the last.
However, Tesla recalls are usually related to software, not hardware issues, meaning owners rarely need to go to a Tesla service center or do anything. Instead, the car receives a software update that fixes the problem.
Previously, many of Tesla’s software-style recalls, such as disabling rolling stops or disabling boombox mode, came through a more extensive vehicle update. As such, the recovery information is displayed in the additional notes section of the update.
Tesla will likely continue to offer details and notes on each software update and display recovery information within the dedicated mobile app. Considering the feature is still new, we’re not sure if users will be notified when a withdrawal is available, but that would be the best way to fully use this new feature.
Please note that the feature is not shown in all regions yet, though the changes are present in the latest 4.9 release. The company might release it slowly for specific markets, so we’ll have to wait and see.
