AMD recently announced the new Ryzen 7000X3D chips, which seem to be the best gaming CPUs yet. However, if you were hoping to buy them, you may have to wait a bit.

AMD initially slated these chips for a February release, but left out one key detail about them: price. We don’t yet know how much the CPU lineup costs, or how big the gap will be compared to non-3D variants. AMD initially provided a release date of February 14 (Valentine’s Day) for these chips to hit store shelves, but the company withdrew it. In response, AMD said that the release date is incorrect and that it does not have a date to share at this time.

Given that these chips were scheduled to launch next month, the fact that AMD is unwilling to share key availability details at this time is a bit worrying. When AMD announced its Zen 4 chips, we had pricing and availability information right from the start. Notably, the new CPUs also took a while to be announced as rumors said they couldn’t be released sooner because AMD could only produce enough 3D V-Cache for the old Ryzen 7 5800X3D.

Of course, we’re just speculating, but AMD could have production issues with these chips. Here’s hoping there isn’t a significant delay as a result.
