Google Play Store is one of the basic applications of the Android operating system. It is essential because it is the place from which all applications, games and books are downloaded, and in fact it is usually already pre-installed in the operating system.
However, there are some situations where the app may “disappear” from the phone: A reset, problem with the rooting procedure or an error can cause the application to disappear.
Clear Play Store cache
The first thing to do is make sure that the Google market is not really on our phone: then we have to look for the icon (in case we have moved it without realizing it, or someone has moved it) and check that the app opens ; If the Play Store is present but does not start, you still have to install it again.
Therefore, first of all, we have to act like this:
- Anger Setting
- Then General
- Then Apps and notifications
- Select “Everyone” either “All applications“
Scrolling down we must also find the Google Play Store (they are in alphabetical order), and by entering its tab you can delete both the data and the cache. To do this, you will need to do the following:
- Once you have found the Play Store app click on it
- Select the option “Storage“.
- Click on “empty the cache” and then on “Delete data“
⚠️ In this case it will also delete settings, accounts and files. If you’re not sure, don’t do anything.
Once this is done (or skipping this step if this application is not in the menu at all) we can proceed to the new installation of the Play Store. Cleaning the cache is essential to avoid repeating the error that caused it to disappear/crash.
Download from Google Play Store
Once this is done, it is time to download the Google market on our device. This can be done directly from the smartphone, without going through the computer, preferably using Google Chrome, which supports downloads. Play Store, in the version you choose, will be downloaded as an APK fileand it will be saved in the download section of your smartphone.
Before we get started, we’d like to make a couple of important warnings
Make sure that the version you want to download is compatible with the operating system you have: it is unthinkable, for example, that a version for Android 7 Nougat is compatible with Android Gingerbread.
Look for the correct version only on reliable websites, such as the one we indicated, which only hosts APKs of free apps; Play Store does not exist in the form of official Google downloadso you should always trust external sources.
To be sure that the downloaded version has not been manipulated (and therefore, for example, does not contain viruses), it is possible to install, before Google Play, a antivirus for Android that allows you to perform a scan at the time of installationin order to block the app if it is discovered that something is wrong.
Settings for downloads from unknown sources
At this point we must make sure that our phone accepts the installation of apps from unknown sources, which are not official stores; For this we must do the following:
- Anger Setting
- then to the tab General
- After to Security
- Search and bookmark Unknown sources (or on some phones it’s Unknown Sources) if it’s not enabled, you need to enable it before you can install third-party apps on your phone.
If you can’t find the entry (because in some versions of Android it’s in other menus), look for it in the Applications in Settingsor in that of Privacy.
Now let’s download the file from Play Store
To download the apk from the Play Store you will need:
- Go to this page: https://google-play.uptodown.com/android
- Click “Last version“.
- Your smartphone will warn you that the file may harm your device, but this is absolutely not the case. So click on To accept.
The Play Store source file will now be transferred to your mobile phone and you can continue installing it.
Google Play Store Installation
Now you have to install the APK you just got on your phone, which you can do immediately after downloading the apk, or using specific applications. Let’s look at both situations.
When the download is finished you must:
- Open drop-down menu notifications (the one that opens by sliding your finger across the screen from top to bottom)
- Click on the notification that the download has finished
- You’ll be asked if you want to install (or update if you already have) the Google Play Store, tap Install.
- When your smartphone has finished (it will take a few moments) you can open the application by pressing Open.
