How to cancel a Google Play Store subscription or an Android app

Open the Google Play Store on your Android device and go to the Profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions to find all your active app subscriptions. Touch a subscription and touch “Cancel subscription” to cancel it.

How to cancel a Google Play Store subscription on Android

The easiest way to cancel Android app subscriptions is by using your Android smartphone.

Start by launching the “Play Store” app. If you can’t find it on your device, swipe up on your home screen to open the app drawer, and then scroll until you find the app.

Next, tap on your profile icon in the search bar.

Tap on the “Payments & Subscriptions” option found in the menu.

Choose "Payments and subscriptions".

Now select “Subscriptions”.

You should now see all the subscriptions you are paying through the Google Play Store in the “Active” section. Touch the subscription you want to cancel.

Select the app to cancel.

Select the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the page.

Provide a reason to unsubscribe and then tap the “Continue” button.

Select a reason and touch "Continue".

Confirm that you want to cancel the Android app’s Play Store subscription by selecting the “Unsubscribe” button.

Your subscription to the application will remain active until the end of your billing period. If this is a new subscription, you may be able to request a refund in the Google Play Store.

How to cancel a Google Play Store subscription from the web

If you no longer have access to an Android device or prefer to manage your finances from your computer, you can also cancel app subscriptions through the Google Play Store website.

Start by visiting the Google Play Store from the browser of your choice. From there, select your profile icon at the top right and click “Payments & Subscriptions”.

Now switch to the “Subscriptions” tab and click the “Manage” button on the right hand side of your screen that is associated with the subscription you want to cancel.

Select the “Unsubscribe” option at the bottom of the pop-up menu.

Choose a reason to cancel and click “Continue.”

Finally, click the “Unsubscribe” button to confirm your decision.

Again, the subscription will remain active until the end of your billing period. That’s all about it! If you’re curious, you can also view a list of your purchase history on the Play Store. Remember, simply uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
