Note: The exact steps to forward a message will vary slightly depending on your phone model and texting app. In this guide, we use the official Google Messages app to show you how to go through the process.

Forward a text using the messages app on Android

To start the process, launch Messages on your Android phone. Then, find and access the conversation that your message is in.

Touch and hold the message to forward. Then, in the upper right corner of your screen, select the three dots.

Tap on the three dots in the top right corner.

In the three-dot menu, choose “Forward”.

Select

You will see a “Forward Message” window that lists the senders and receivers of recent messages. Tap someone on this list to forward your message to them.

To enter a phone number or choose someone from your contacts, tap “New Message”.

Select a recipient or touch

On the “New Conversation” page, at the top, tap the “To” field and enter the phone number you want your message forwarded to. Alternatively, on the same page, choose a person from your contact list.

Enter a phone number or choose a contact.

The next screen allows you to optionally edit your message before sending it. When you’re ready to send it, tap the paper plane icon next to the message you want to forward.

Your phone will send the selected message to your chosen recipient, and you’re all set.
