In the Spotify desktop app, the Friends Activity tab shows what music your friends are listening to. If you don’t mind that, you can hide the panel and have more screen real estate in the app. We’ll show you how to do just that.
You can use any of the following methods to hide the Friends Activity tab on Spotify.
Note: Know that Spotify only shows the Friends Activity tab on its desktop app, so you only have to do this process on your computer.
Hide Spotify Friends Activity Tab Using a Menu Bar Option
A quick way to remove Friends Activity from your view is to use the Spotify menu bar option.
If you’re on a Windows PC, in the top left corner of Spotify, click the three dots.
In the menu that opens, select View > Friends Activity.
Advice: In the future, to re-enable the tab, click the same View > Friends Activity option.
The tab is now disabled.
If you’re using a Mac, in the Spotify menu bar, click View > Friends Activity, and your tab will disappear. Are you ready.
Remove Spotify Friends Activity Panel From Settings
Another way to get rid of Friend Activity is by using an option in the Spotify settings menu. This option works the same on Windows, Mac, and Linux.
To use this method, in the upper right corner of Spotify, click on your profile icon and select “Settings”.
Scroll down the “Settings” page to the “Display” section. Here, turn off the “See what your friends are playing” option.
Advice: Later, to get the tab back, enable the “See what your friends are playing” option.
Immediately Spotify will remove the friends activity panel from your screen. Enjoy a neat music listening interface!
