Do you want your Google Drive video to play at a certain time when people open the video link? If so, it’s easy to create timestamped links for your videos hosted on this service. This is how you do it.

To create a custom link that will play your Google Drive video at the specified time, you don’t need a third-party app. You simply need to add a parameter to the video URL, and that link then plays the video at the chosen point.

Link to a specific position in a Google Drive video

To generate a link for your video, first, launch Google Drive on your computer and browse to your video file.

Right-click on your video and choose “Get Link” from the menu.

Choose "Get the link" from the menu.

In the box that opens, take the link of your video by clicking “Copy Link”.

Click "copy link" in the frame.

Open a new tab in your web browser and paste your video link there. Don’t press Enter yet.

Your video link should look like this:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZWQN93aQ2lniE3RTe-sdL1VXrbFHLcUL/view?usp=sharing

From this link, remove everything after view?. Then add the t parameter with how long you want to play your video. For example, to make your link play your video in 1 minute and 25 seconds, your resulting link would look like this:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZWQN93aQ2lniE3RTe-sdL1VXrbFHLcUL/view?t=1m25s

In the link above, m means minutes and s by seconds To specify the time, you will use h.

Access the link and you will see that Google Drive plays your video at the specified time. You can now share this link with other people so they can also watch your video at their chosen starting point. However, make sure you have given others access to your video.

And this is how you allow yourself and others to quickly get to a specific point in your video without having to manually skip any part of it. Very useful!
