Activate the dark mode of Google Drive on Android
On an Android phone, use the Google Drive app’s built-in option to black out your entire app.
Get started by launching Google Drive on your phone. Then, in the top left corner of the app, tap on the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines).
In the opened menu, select “Settings”.
On the “Settings” page, in the “Theme” section, tap “Choose Theme.”
Select “Dark” in the theme list.
Advice: To return to the default Google Drive theme in the future, choose the “System Default” option.
Enable Google Drive dark mode on iPhone and iPad
On an iPhone and iPad, Google Drive honors your device’s default theme. So if you have enabled the dark mode of your device, Google Drive will use that theme as well.
To enable dark mode, you must be running iOS 13 or later on your iPhone and iPadOS 13 or later on your iPad.
Launch Settings on your device. Under Settings, select “Display & Brightness”.
In the “Appearance” section, select “Dark.”
Launch the Google Drive app and you will notice that it now uses dark mode. Are you ready.
Activate Google Drive dark mode in Chrome and Edge
Google Drive on the web does not offer an official dark mode. If you want to use a dark theme on the site, you’ll need to use Chrome or Edge’s unofficial forced dark mode feature.
That feature is located in the experimental features section of the web browser. To enable it, first launch Chrome or Edge on your desktop.
If you’re in Chrome, type the following in the address bar and press Enter (or Return):

On the “Experiments” page that opens, at the top, select the “Search indicators” box and type dark.
In the search results, next to the “Auto dark mode for web content” entry, click the dropdown menu and select “Enabled.”
You must now restart your browser for the changes to take effect. To do so, in the lower right corner of your web browser, click “Restart” (Chrome) or “Restart” (Edge).
Your browser will reopen. Now, head over to the Google Drive site and you will see that it uses a dark theme.

Use Google Drive in dark mode in Firefox and Safari
Unlike Chrome and Edge, Firefox and Safari do not have a forced dark theme for websites. Instead, you must use a browser extension to enable dark mode on your sites, including the Google Drive site.
If you’re on Firefox, you can get the Dark Reader extension for free. In Safari, you will have to buy the same extension. Once you have installed the extension, you can use it to activate dark mode.
While you’re at it, consider enabling dark mode in Gmail, Chrome, Docs, Sheets, Maps, YouTube, and Chromebook.
