Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event will be held on August 10, where we expect to see new products including the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Flip 4, and Galaxy Watch 5. Now, just a few days before the event, Samsung is unveiling health and fitness features. fitness that could help your smartwatch take on Fitbit and Garmin.
And while several leaks give us a good idea of what Samsung’s new smartwatch looks like, a recent editorial from Samsung’s executive vice president and head of health R&D hints at several new health-related upgrades.
In the blog post, Yang said, “Next week, Samsung will share its latest lineup of innovative products designed to improve users’ everyday lives, including updates that power fitness and wellness routines.”
He then went on to talk about how many users have adopted new habits and interests in recent years, especially when it comes to being healthy and having a greater awareness of physical and mental health. The executive said, “Samsung is pleased to continue to expand our Galaxy Watch lineup to better meet the many unique needs of our users, especially those who are passionate about the outdoors.”
Some users want to hit step goals, others bike or walk, and some just want to track sleep and movement. In any case, it seems that Samsung wants to offer a portable device that appeals to the routine of health, fitness and well-being of any user.
We’ve already seen countless leaks suggesting that Samsung will launch at least two watches, and those leaks mock up a strong focus on fitness, but a third could be on the way. Maybe something tougher to take on Garmin, more Fitbit-like wellness features, or an entirely new model.
We only have a few more days to wait and see what comes next, but we’re hoping for at least a budget Galaxy Watch 5, along with a more capable and rugged Pro model. Or, get what’s currently available at the link below.
