Peacock is the streaming service owned by NBCUniversal, with many TV shows and movies and some live broadcasts. Now you can watch your local news station on the service, without additional hardware or subscriptions.

NBCUniversal is beginning to roll out local affiliate stations on Peacock Premium Plus, which means your local NBC TV station (such as KUSA in Denver or WNBC in New York) will be available through Peacock, giving you access to local news , weather and other live content. There is no need for a cable or satellite TV subscription, or a TV antenna to pick up the over-the-air version. Some stations are already available in the app, but the feature won’t be fully rolled out until November 30.

The only downside is that affiliate TV stations are only available on the Premium Plus tier, which costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year. The regular Premium plan with no ads costs $4.99/mo or $9.99/mo, and Peacock offers a free plan with ads and a limited library.

Paramount+ has included access to local CBS stations for a while now, which also requires the most expensive level of service. Some CBS stations are also available for free through the Roku Channel and Pluto TV, but the free versions are mostly limited to news and weather reports.
